Brisbane to Sydney on the XPT
Queensland By Train For many years, Queensland has developed and promoted itself as Australia's leading holiday state with great success, and it is not difficult to see why.
The state is home to the Whitsunday Islands; the Great Barrier Reef; The Gold Coast and its plethora of theme parks; Fraser Island: Cape York; and that is only its major brisbane to casino train attractions.
To assist in bringing tourists to its many attractions, Queensland has an extensive and efficient railway network that services every major town and city in the state.
But before we look at Queensland's key rail destinations, travellers from Sydney first have to get to the hub of the state's rail network, which is the state's brisbane to casino train city - Brisbane.
Sydney and Brisbane are connected by an XPT rail service operated by New South Wales TrainLink.
Two trains run in each direction every day, with an overnight service in each direction and a daylight service in each direction.
Trains leave Sydney from Central Station in the city.
The journry takes around 16 hours.
The daylight train service from Sydney terminates at Casino in northern New South Wales.
Passengers travelling to Queensland are transfered to a coach service which stops at Byron Bay and the Gold Coast before terminating at Roma Street, Bribane.
The overnight service goes all the way to Brisbane.
On the return journey, the daylight service departs 5.
Coach services from the Gold Coast and northern NSW coastal towns connent with the trains at Casino.
The advantage in taking the overnight train is that you save the cost of a night's accommodation in a hotel.
Queensland Rail Services Citytrain brisbane to casino train services extend from the centre of Brisbane south to Beenleigh and Robina on the Gold Coast, north to Ferny Grove, Shorncliffe, Caboolture and Gympie, east to Cleveland and west to Ipswich and Rosewood.
All rail destinations beyond Gary epiphone casino are serviced by Queensland Rail.
They operate a modern fleet of trains out of Brisbane to service the coastal regions of Queensland, from the Gold Coast in the south to such destinations as The Sunshine Coast, Bundaberg, Rockhampton, The Whitsundays, Bowen, Mackay, Townsville and Cairns.

Brisbane to Casino (by XPT)
Not worth the 15 hour train trip to Brisbane – XPT is really crap in comparison to Queensland Rail's long distance trains. You're better off flying.
